So when you hear protective styles do you think of braids , flat twist , or any other natural hair styles ? I know that’s the first thing that comes to half of our minds. Heres a fun fact did you know full lace wigs , frontal installs , and even closure installs also falls into the protective styles category. My definition of protective styles is any hair style that allows your natural hair to be tucked away so aren't pulling at it. When you get a wig install, frontal or closure install that require’s your hair to be braided under neath the braids usually that are done are circle braids( corn rolls that are braided in a circle ) that makes the install flat those are good for frontal or a closure install or you can keep it simple with straight back corn rolls which i use for my wig installs. I know you get worried on how your hair will stay hydrated but it can stay hydrated you can add oil in between the tracks before you get your hair washed and tighten or when you take your wig off you can add oil before and let it marinate before you re apply the wig. Protective styles can be done in the extension world just like having braids done or flat twist ! Fall is coming up we want to keep our hair hydrated and protected for the win !
